Crazy If Not True on I John 1:1-4

Pastor Jim concludes a six part summertime sermon series on appearances of God in both the Old and New Testaments.  Previous sermons in this series included Moses at the burning bush (Exodus 3:1-20), Elijah at Mt. Sinai’s cave (I Kings 19:1-18), Isaiah at the time of King Uzziah’s death (Isaiah 6), Paul on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:1-19) and John on the Isle of Patmos (Revelation 1:9-20).  But as dramatic and instructive as each of these appearances are, the greatest appearance of God was when the Father sent His Son Jesus to take on flesh and bones – to become a man – and to live among us.  After decades of familiarity with the story, the elderly Apostle John writes in his first letter to express his utter amazement with what he himself had experienced.
