Preaching through 1 Timothy, Pastor Jim moves from chapter 1’s warnings against false teaching into 1 Timothy 2:1-7, where Paul declares that prayer for all people, including those in authority, is the believer’s top priority. The message centers on God’s desire that all be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth, and on Christ as the one mediator who gave himself as a ransom for all. The takeaway: before anything else, we are to pray broadly, resting in the certainty that there is one God and one way of salvation through Jesus Christ.
