Questions

Our world is loaded with questions – Who, What, Where, How, Why start off a multitude of investigations.  But though we have such a wealth of questions – answers are not as plentiful.  And even where answers have been offered – how do we know if they are right and true?

This is extremely important when we are dealing with the big questions like:

  1. Who Am I?
  2. How Did I Get Here?
  3. What Is My Purpose?
  4. Where Am I Going?
  5. Etc.

We must have an authoritative response that surpasses our best guess.  The Bible, which is the unique and fully authoritative word of God, provides us with the answers.  The Bible tells us of God who carefully and perfectly created all things but of how sin entered into this world and death with sin.  Sin fractured the beautiful communion which existed between God and man.  A dividing wall stood between God and man.

Nothing could be done on our part to overcome this barrier.  So God the Father took the initiative to send His one and only Son, Jesus, to become a man, to live a sinless life and to die on a cross for you and for me.  His death paid the price of our sin and broke down the wall of separation.  Now all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus and we loudly proclaim His finished work of salvation – there is nothing to add.  There is just that men and women might now believe on the name of the Son of God and enter into life in His name.

A preacher named Paul nearly 2,000 years ago wrote to Christians in Rome reminding them that “Whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord will be saved.”

I implore you to call upon the name of Jesus Christ today!  He will empower you to walk in newness of life.  And then go on as His disciple, as His true follower to grow in God, listening to His word, submitting your life to His lordship every day.
